West Ham United have followed up their capture of Joe Cole by signing Marouane Chamakh on loan from Arsenal. The Moroccan striker moves to Upton Park till the end of the season. Chamakh joined Arsenal from Bordeaux in 2010 but failed to adjust to life in England, scoring a total of just eight Premiership goals. He didn’t appear for the Gunners in this season’s Premier League but did play for them in the League Cup and scored twice when they beat Reading 7-5.
Apart from Chamakh and Cole, the Hammers have also snapped up rising Republic of Ireland star Sean Maguire from Waterford.
The transfer of Chamakh means that West Ham now have a strike force of the Moroccan, Andy Carroll and Carlton Cole.
Sam Allarydce is also reportedly working towards completing a deal for left back Stephen Warnock, who is currently way down the pecking order at Aston Villa.
