West Ham United have completed the signing of young striker Sam Baldock from Milton Keynes Dons. The Hammers had an initial £1.5m bid for the 22 year old rejected by Dons, but eventually managed to get their man after upping their bid to £2.75m. Baldock has put pen to paper a four year deal at Upton Park with an option to extend it by a further year.
Baldock has been in tremendous form for MK Dons this season, netting six times in as many appearances for the club. He scored a hat trick against Chesterfield and was also on the scoresheet when Dons upset Norwich City in the Carling Cup in a midweek fixture.
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce, who had made no secret of his admiration for Baldock, expressed delight at the capture.
