West Ham United have completed the signing of Manuel Almunia from Arsenal on a one month loan deal. West Ham boss Sam Allarydce moved quickly to snap up the Spanish stopper after Robert Green was ruled out for six weeks with a knee cartilage problem.
Almunia was once Arsenal’s No.1 but Arsene Wenger now prefers Wojciech Szczesny in goal to the Spaniard. Almunia joins fellow Arsenal player Henri Lansbury, who has also been on loan at West Ham since late August.
Almunia could make his Arsenal debut this weekend when the Hammers take on London rivals Crystal Palace in the Championship.
