According to reports, West Ham United are set to offer Nigerian striker Yakubu an immediate return to the Premiership. The Yak currently plies his trade for Blackburn Rovers, who were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2011/12 season and has his heart set on staying in the Premier League.
Rovers would be willing to sell Yakubu on the cheap and that makes him a very attractive transfer option for the Hammers, who along with Reading and Southampton, will be the new entrants in the forthcoming season of the Premier League.
A transfer fee of around £1m is being mooted for Yakubu, who signed for Rovers from Everton on transfer deadline day last summer.
