Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has pledged his future to the club by signing a fresh five year deal. The contract extension ensures that Hart, who had two years left on his deal prior to the extension, will be at Eastlands till 2016. Hart is currently City’s no.1 after wresting the spot away from Irish international Shay Given with a string of impressive performances and has also cemented his spot as England’s first choice keeper.
Hart, 24, joined City for only £600,000 from Shrewsbury back in 2006- an absolute steal given his progress over the years.
The official terms of his new deal were not revealed but sources say that Hart will now earn close to £90,000 a week at City, a close to 300% increase over his previous salary.
