Scottish Premier League club Hibernian have announced the loan signings of James McPake and Tom Soares as they bid to stay in the top tier of Scottish football. Hibs have only 18 points to their name from 23 fixtures and are just a point above bottom of the league Dunfermline.
Defender McPake, 27, joins the Easter Road outfit from Championship club Coventry City while midfielder Soares has been signed from Stoke. Soares’ team mate Michael Tonge was also set to join him, but the move collapsed at the last moment.
Both McPake and Soares will stay at Easter Road till the end of the current 2011-12 season.
The duo are in line to make their debuts for Hibs when they visit defending champions Rangers this weekend.
