Queens Park Rangers have announced that they have failed in a bid to sign young Brazilian striker Henrique. The Hoops managed to reach an agreement with Sao Paulo for the transfer of the prodigious U20 striker but Henrique was not able to secure the mandatory work permit required for non EU citizens.
It is understood that Henrique’s limited number of appearances in club football, plus the fact that he hasn’t made his debut for the Brazilian national football team, went against him.
QPR boss Mark Hughes, who has spoken of the need to add attacking firepower to his ranks is now expected to turn either to Fulham’s Bobby Zamora or Rangers’ Nikica Jelavic.
