Celtic have completed the signing of Polish striker Patryk Klimala from Jagiellonia Bialystok. The 21-year-old has moved from the Ekstraklasa outfit for a fee of around 4 million euros and has put pen to paper of four and a half year deal at Parkhead.
Klimala netted seven goals and 3 assists across all competitions for Jagiellonia this season before his move to Scotland. He has been capped by Poland at U-21 level and is widely regarded as one of the country’s best upcoming young talents.
Klimala becomes Celtic’s for signing of the winter window and follows in the footsteps of the likes of Dariusz Dziekanowski, Maciej Zurawski, Artur Boruc, Dariusz Wdowczyk, Lukasz Zaluska and Pawel Brozek, all Polish internationals who have donned the famous green and white hoops in Glasgow.
Celtic currently lead the Scottish Premiership with 52 points, two ahead of Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, who have a game in hand over the Hoops.
Celtic’s next league game is against Kilmarnock on the 22nd of this month, but Klimala could be in line to make his club debut as early as this weekend, when Neil Lennon’s side square off against Partick Thistle in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
