Premier League outfit Watford have completed the signing of Ignacio Pussetto from Serie A Club Udinese. The 24-year-old has moved to Vicarage Road for a fee of 8 million euros and has put pen to paper for a four and a half year deal that will keep him at the London club till the end of the 2023/24 season.
Pussetto is also Watford’s first signing of the winter transfer window. He had joined Udinese from Huracan in his native Argentina in the summer of 2018. The forward made 12 league appearances for Udinese in the 19/20 season but only two of them were starts- the season opener against AC Milan and the home fixture against Brescia back in September. His solitary goal for the club this season came in the 3-1 defeat against Juventus last month.
Watford have enjoyed a mini turnaround of sorts under new manager Nigel Pearson in recent weeks, winning four and drawing one of their last five games.
These impressive results, including scalps of both Manchester United and Wolves at home, have seen them climb out of the relegation zone. They are currently 17th in the table and will face Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
