Queens Park Rangers are reportedly ready to bid for Wigan Athletic’s Colombian striker Hugo Rodallega. The forward is out of contract at the DW Stadium in the summer and has not penned an extension given the Latics’ perilous league position at this stage of the season. QPR are hoping that this will persuade Wigan to sell their star forward at a knockdown price rather than lose him for nothing in the summer.
Wigan made an attempt to sign Nicky Maynard from Bristol City, presumably as a replacement for Rodallega, but failed, leading to rumours that they will keep Rodallega unless a replacement is signed.
QPR face competition from West Ham United, who are also looking for a striker to fire them back into the Premiership.
