New Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes is set to raid his former club Blackburn Rovers for the services of centre half Chris Samba. According to reports, Hughes has already tabled a £7m bid for the services of the powerful defender, an improvement on the £5m bid submitted by his predecessor Neil Warnock a few days ago.
The chance of working with Hughes, who originally brought Samba from Hertha Berlin to Blackburn, may excite the Congo international. However Hughes faces competition from title challenging Tottenham Hotspur as well as French moneybags Paris Saint-Germain, both of whom want a solid figure to bolster their backline.
Blackburn are said to be holding out for around £8m for their star centre half.
