Hull City have signed winger Stephen Hunt from Coca Cola Championship side Reading for a reported £3.5m transfer fee.
Hunt, 28, leaves the Royals after four years at the Madjeski. He joined Reading from Brentford in 2005, and made over 150 appearances for the Berkshire based club.
Hunt was the subject of four bids from Sunderland in the 2008 winter transfer window. At that time, Reading insisted that the player was not for sale.
The Republic of Ireland international could make his debut for Hull against Chelsea this weekend. At Reading, he was involved in a collision with Petr Cech in October 2006, that left the Czech goalkeeper needing surgery for a skull fracture.
The Tigers also announced the signing of striker Kamel Ghilas from Celta Vigo. The arrival of Ghilas and Hunt takes Hull’s number of acqusitions in the summer transfer window to four.
