Hull City have completed the signings of Stoke midfielder Seyi Olofinjana and Villarreal striker Jozy Altidore. Nigerian international Olofinjana will cost the Tigers £3million and has signed a four-year contract at the KC Stadium.
The 29 year-old had also been linked with a move back to his old club in France Monaco, but has decided to stay in the Premier League. The midfielder failed to play regularly for Stoke last season, after moving to the Britannia from Wolves for £3million last summer.
Meanwhile American striker Altidore has joined on a season-long loan, with a view to a permanent deal if he impresses. The 19 year-old is highly-rated throughout Europe and impressed during his countries Confederations Cup campaign, where they made it through to the final and were unluckily beaten by Brazil.
The young striker spent the end of last season out on loan at Spanish side Xerez, where he helped the club to promotion to La Liga. He cost the Yellow Submarine £6million when he joined from New York Red Bulls, but he never really settled in Spain.
He’s quick, strong and direct, which are all ideal attributes for the Premier League. He is one of the new breed of young USA internationals hoping to gain valuable experience for next year’s World Cup.
