Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has agreed terms with Stuttgart over a £20million move to the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion according to reports emanating from Germany. The 25 year-old had been linked with a move to Tottenham earlier in the summer, but looks set to make the move to the Bundesliga.
The striker has been pushed down the pecking order at Real by the arrival of French whizkid Karim Benzema from Lyon. Huntelaar only arrived at the Bernabeu in the January transfer window from Ajax and it looks likely that his stay in Madrid will be a short one. The Dutch internationals arrival will he see him the fill the boots of German international striker Mario Gomez, who left for Bayern Munich earlier this summer.
His agent has denied that any deal has yet been struck and told the Deutsche Presseagentur:
“There is no decision made actually,”
“The only thing for sure at this point is that it will be this Monday when he says yes or no to those offers that are on the table.”
The former Ajax star had a decent scoring record at Real scoring eight goals in his 20 appearances in La Liga, many of those appearances coming as a substitute. However he was heavily criticised when he first arrived in Spain as he wasn’t seen as a Real Madrid class player.
