Barcelona have ‘agreed in principle’ to sign Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic according to Barca president Joan Laporta. Reports suggest that Inter will receive £34million plus Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’. There has been major speculation over the Cameroonian international’s future this summer and it looks like he will now move to Italy.
The player has already been linked with a big money move to Manchester City, but the English side decided to pursue other targets. Former Arsenal star Alexander Hleb will also join Inter as part of the deal on a season-long loan.
Swedish striker Ibrahimovic has been linked with some of the top European clubs including Manchester United, Real Madrid and Chelsea. Inter full back Maxwell is also heading to Barcelona as well, but not part of this deal.
Laporta told Spanish press “There is an agreement in principle with Inter Milan,”
“Ibrahimovic’s signing depends on the player himself, on Samuel Eto’o and all the parties involved.”
The player has been offered a two-year contract at the Nou Camp, but the striker is yet to respond to the offer. Laporta went onto say that David Villa could still arrive from Valencia, with Barcelona already deep in discussions with Los Ches over the Spanish international.Villa had also been linked with Barca’s bitter rivals Real Madrid, but the Nou Camp is a more likely destination for the star.
