Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho appears to have bypassed the ‘rising star’ stage entirely; he’s now on of Europe’s hottest properties, regardless of age bracket.
His meteoric ascension to football’s upper echelons has not gone unnoticed amongst the continent’s mega clubs – Manchester United are one of a number of sides courting the England international and, according to numerous reports, Old Trafford is Sancho’s preferred destination.
However, if outlets like the Daily Mail and Metro are to be believed, those closest to Sancho have advised against him swapping Dortmund for the red half of Manchester. In order to have even a remote chance of landing their target, it is said that United must qualify for next season’s Champion’s League – a tall order in itself.
But, even if they can outdo the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Leicester to claim a top-four spot, Sancho’s advisors see his future at a higher level. With Manchester United stuck in a seemingly perpetual state of transition, a better-run club would be a shrewder alternative for the 19-year-old.
Sancho would most-likely command a nine-figure transfer fee which only a select few have the resources do dish out. But if the time comes for Sancho to choose between United and another titan like Barcelona (who have also shown an interest), his advisors might be right to warn him to avoid what they see as a sinking ship in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
