Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Matt Jarvis has said that he is happy to stay at Molineux despite rumours linking him to Aston Villa. Villa boss Alex McLeish has identified Jarvis as a possible replacement for Ashley Young, who left Villa Park for Old Trafford last month.
Jarvis was one of Wolves’ standout players last season as they narrowly managed to escape the drop and was named both the Clubs’ and Supporters Player of the Year for 2010/11. His form even attracted the eye of England boss Fabio Capello who gave him a senior cap in the recent friendly against Ghana at Wembley.
Jarvis has been with Wolves since June 2007 when he joined them from Gillingham and will enter his fifth season at Molineux in August.
