Stoke City striker Cameron Jerome is being linked with a loan move to the Championship. The striker has fallen down the pecking order since the arrival of Michael Owen. He was already behind the likes of Kenwyne Jones, Peter Crouch and Jonathan Walters before Owen’s arrival.
Jerome nearly joined Championship side Blackburn last week, but the deal fell through at the last minute. A host of second tier clubs are now chasing the former-Birmingham frontman. Wolves, Bolton and Leeds are believed to be interested in signing the striker on a temporary deal.
It appears that Leeds are now favourites to sign the striker. All the interested clubs wanted to sign Jerome in time for this weekend’s fixtures. However, it now looks unlikely that a deal will done before the weekend’s games.
Jerome enjoyed his best goal scoring seasons while in the Championship with Birmingham and he will be hoping to rediscover his best form in the second tier.
