Brazilian striker Jo has moved to Turkish side Galatasaray on loan till the end of the season. The 22 year-old was on loan at Premier League Everton but his loan deal was cancelled and he headed back to Manchester City. City immediately loaned him out to the Turkish giants.
When Jo arrived at City for £18million from Russian side CSKA Moscow he was highly rated and big things were expected of him in the Premier League. However he struggled to settle in Manchester and joined Everton on loan last season.
He had mixed fortunes at Goodison Park but he did enough to convince Toffee’s boss David Moyes to resign him on loan at the start of this season. A statement on the Everton website read: “Brazilian striker Jo has left Everton and returned to Manchester City,”
“Jo was then immediately loaned by City to Galatasaray, the Turkish side taking the 22-year-old until the end of the season.”
Jo fell out with the Everton boss after arriving home late from a holiday in Brazil and was fined. Moyes gave him another chance but the youngster failed to turn up for training on Monday. It was the final straw and Everton contacted City to cancel his loan deal. The Brazilian international will be hoping he enjoys a more successful time in Turkey then he did in England.
