Arsenal are interested in signing QPR and Brazil keeper Julio Cesar, according to the Guardian. The experienced keeper helped the Selecao to a 3-0 victory over Spain in the Confederations Cup final last night.
The 33-year-old is expected to leave Loftus Road this summer, after the Hoops were relegated to the Championship. The keeper has previously stated his desire to stay in the Premier League and Arsenal is being mooted as a possible destination.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is looking for experienced competition for young Polish number one Wojciech Szczesny and Cesar fits the bill. Wenger is also believed to be considering a move to bring in Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina.
The Spanish international faces increased competition for the number one jersey at Anfield next season, after the Reds brought in Simon Mignolet from Sunderland. Reina had also been linked with a move back home to Barcelona, but that move now seems increasing unlikely.
Arsenal and Chelsea look set to battle it out for West Brom wonderkid Isaiah Brown. The 16-year-old forward is highly-rated and the Blues currently look favourites to sign Brown, despite Arsenal’s record of blooding young talent.
