Villareal striker Giuseppe Rossi has tasted a lot of success in Spain, but has always voiced his desire to return to Italy. Juventus are looking at Rossi to replace the void left by departing Czech star Pavel Nedved. Rossi has scored an impressive 23 goals for Villareal in 57 games, and recently was the star of Italy’s 3-1 win over the USA, scoring a brace.
Juventus have confirmed that their sporting director Alessio Secco is meeting with Villarreal officials to negotiate a transfer for Rossi. The Yellow Submarines have asked for €17 million, plus striker Juventus striker David Trezeguet in exchange. Trezeguet has been down in the pecking order at Juventus with injury forcing him on the sidelines for most of the season. So, a move to Spain seems very likely.
Juventus boss Ciro Ferrara has another decision to make with regards to the left back slot. Italy internationals Fabio Grosso and Andreas Dossena have both been touted as potential signings, but only one player will be signed. Ferrara has high regard for both players and will make his decision in the coming week.
Right now there is no new news from Juventus,” declared Dossena’s agent to the corrieredellosport.it.
“They must still decide whether to go for my client or for Grosso.
“Should they decide to go for my client, we shall surely take into consideration the offer. He is fine at Liverpool, but Juventus is Juventus and he has a bit of nostalgia for Italy.”
