Sunderland’s Trinidad and Tobago international Kenwyne Jones has said that he could leave the Stadium of Light this summer if the Black Cats are relegated. Jones pledged his long term future to Sunderland by signing a new four and a half year contract in January 2009. But Sunderland’s recent poor run has made them serious contenders for the drop to the Championship, and Jones has said that he ” does not know what will happen to him if the club go down”.
Tottenham have made no secret of their interest in Jones, often said to be the next Didier Drogba, and even made a £15m+ bid for him in the winter transfer window.
