New Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has earmarked Kyle Naughton and Chris Gunter as two possible summer arrivals at Villa Park. Tottenham defender Naughton, who spent last season on loan at Norwich City, Lambert’s previous club before he took over the reins at Villa from Alex McLeish, is a £4m target for the Midlands outfit. Norwich and their new manager Chris Houghton also remain interested, but Lambert’s presence at Villa Park may tilt the deal the latter’s way.
Lambert will also make a fresh attempt to sign Chris Gunter, the Nottingham Forest full back he failed to acquire during the January transfer window for Norwich. The 22 year old is an ex Spurs player and moved to the City Ground in 2009. He is the final year of his four year contract at Forest.
