Wigan Athletic have completed the transfer of winger Albert Crusat from Almeria. Almeria, who were relegated from La Liga last season, reportedly accepted a €2m fee from the Latics for Crusat’s services. The transfer brings to an end Crusat’s six year stay at Almeria, with the winger scoring 33 times for the Andalusian outfit in 199 appearances. He was also a key part of their promotion winning squad in 2007.
Crusat has put pen to paper a two year deal at the DW Stadium, with a further one year deal built in depending on his success at the club. Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is a long term admirer of Crusat and tried to bring him in the previous two seasons, but was unsuccessful.
