League Two side Lincoln City have signed striker Rene Howe on loan from Peterborough United. Howe, 22, was deemed surplus to requirements at London Road after Posh won promotion to the Championship from League One last season. He was keen to continue in League One, and was also reportedly the subject of a £150,000 offer from an unnamed club, but eventually agreed to move down to League Two.
Imps boss Peter Jackson said on the club’s official website that he was delighted with the signing. Jackson had made no secret of his desire to bring Howe to Sincil Bank, and his wish has now been fulfilled.
Howe will stay at Lincoln City till the end of December. He has joined the club on a six month loan deal.
