According to the Brazilian press, Liverpool could be interested in acquiring Everton forward Richarlison after it emerged that Reds gaffer Jurgen Klopp had met the player’s agent Renato Valesco.
A switch between the two bitter Merseyside rivals would be tough to imagine, but a player of the Brazilian’s quality could certainly add depth to the Reds, whose fans would be hoping for the 21-year old to have an impact similar to Philippe Coutinho, Richarlison’s compatriot who shone at Anfield before opting for a move down south to Spain.
The 21-year old Richarlison, who moved to Goodison Park from Watford last year, has said that he is happy at Everton. By their standards, the Toffees have underachieved a bit- they’re currently 10th in the league and have only 43 points, while Liverpool are in 2nd with 79 points.
Liverpool’s front trio haven’t been as effective in attack as they were last season, but still remain a very potent troika, and the idea of playing alongside Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and fellow Brazilian Roberto Firmino would perhaps appeal to Richarlison, who has already been capped by the Selecao at international level.
The Brazilian is currently Everton’s joint top scorer in the league alongside Icelandic star Gylfi Sigurdsson.
