Premier League Liverpool have completed the signing of highly-rated Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho from Italian giants Inter for an undisclosed fee , believed to be in the region of £8.5million. The 20 year-old has signed a long-term deal at Anfield and could be available for the weekend’s trip to champions Manchester City.
Coutinho broke onto the football scene at just 16 in his homeland with Vasco De Gama and was rated as the next big Brazilian superstar. He moved to Italian giants Inter, but never really got a regular run in the Nerrazurri first team.
He spent a successful loan spell in La Liga last season with Espanyol under new Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino. That loan spell saw the youngster mature and Inter were keen on keeping him in their first team.
However, Coutinho is believed to have preferred a move to Liverpool, because he believes he will get more playing time on Merseyside than in Milan.
