Liverpool have now taken their summer spending spree to nearly £80m after making their fifth summer signing. Southampton defender Dejan Lovren has joined the reds in a deal believed to be worth £20m.
25-year-old Lovren joins on a four-year contract and will now team up with former team-mates Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana who both also signed for Liverpool this summer.
Lovren will now meet up with the rest of the Liverpool squad on their US tour and had spoken publicly about his desire to join the Anfield club – He said: “After I played at Anfield last season, I said to myself: ‘One day I hope I’ll be able to play here for Liverpool’.”
