Young Liverpool starlet Dani Pacheco has joined La Liga giants Atletico Madrid on a season long loan deal, the Reds have announced. Pacheco, 20, was widely expected to join Rayo Vallecano but the move broke down and he has now sealed a switch to Atletico, who want cover in the attacking department with Diego Forlan set to follow Sergio Aguero out of Vicente Calderon.
Pacheco, winner of the Golden Boot at the 2010 UEFA European U-19 championship, joined Liverpool from Barcelona in 2007. He has gone on to make 20 senior appearances for the Reds and spent three months on loan at Norwich City earlier this year, helping the Canaries win promotion to the Premier League.
Pacheco was also part of the Spanish side that took part at the recently concluded U-20 World Cup in Colombia.
