Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is planning to strengthen his strike force with a £10m move for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Kevin Doyle. The Reds have three strikers currently available on their books- Luis Suarez, Andy Carroll and David N’Gog, and Dalglish believes he needs one more striker for backup. Both Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli and Dalglish believe that Republic of Ireland international Doyle will fit the bill perfectly.
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy would ordinarily not be interested in selling the striker, but may be forced to allow him to leave Molineux if Liverpool come up with a serious offer for him.
Wolves have won their opening two games of the season against Blackburn and Fulham while Liverpool have collected four points from their first two games.
