Uruguay’s Lucas Torreira and France 19 year old Matteo Guendouzi are set to have medicals at Arsenal today.
Arsenal agreed a £26.4million deal with Sampdoria for Torreira just before the start of the World Cup, and Guendouzi is considered as a hot prospect for the future.
Defensive midfielder Torreira has been capped eight times by Uruguay, and helped his country reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
Guendouzi who also plays in midfield, has played for France at U20 level and was also linked with north London rivals Tottenham.
Torreira is seen as a main transfer signing by new Arsenal manager Unai Emery, who has already made three signings of far.
