Newcastle United have agreed a fee with French giants Montpellier HSC fo defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa. The Magpies will pay a fee of around 8 millions euros for the 23 year old, who is rated as one of the best young defenders in Europe today. Yanga-Mbiwa is now free to discuss personal terms with the Magpies and if he signs for them, he will be the club’s second signing of the winter window after Lille’s Mathieu Debuchy.
Central African Republic born Yanga-Mbiwa was not included in France’s Euro 2012 squad, but has three caps for Les Bleus at national level.
Yanga-Mbiwa is a product of Montpellier’s youth system and has been with them for nearly a decade.
