Manchester City’s Paraguayan striker Roque Santa Cruz has moved to Real Betis on a season long loan. Santa Cruz’s transfer mirrors that of Togolese forward Adebayor, who moved to Tottenham in a similar deal a few days ago. City also announced that Slovakian winger Vladimir Weiss would be joining Espanyol on loan.
Santa Cruz joined Man City from Blackburn Rovers during the reign of Mark Hughes but failed to nail down a first team spot and was eventually deemed surplus to requirements by his successor Roberto Mancini.
Weiss had loan spells at Bolton and Rangers during the last two years and has been sent out on loan to Espanyol in order to garner more first team experience.
