Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Universidad de Chile for the transfer of their teenage forward Angelo Henriquez. Henriquez, 18, is hailed as the next big thing in Chilean football and has already scored eight times in 10 senior appearances for Universidad, thus attracting the attention of scouts across Europe.
Reports in the Mirror suggest that United will pay Universidad a fee of around £3m for Henriquez’s services. United may find it difficult to acquire a work permit for Henriquez, in which case he may be loaned out to a European club to gain first team experience.
Henriquez has represented Chile at youth levels but is yet to win a senior cap for the national side.
