English champions Manchester City have agreed a £12million fee with Serie A club Fiorentina for defender Matija Nastasic. City centre-back Stefan Savic could head in the other direction as part of the deal.
Nastasic is a highly-rated young centre-back, who represents Serbia at international level. The 19 year-old only joined the Viola from Partizan Belgrade last summer, but impressed in his first season in the Italian top flight.
Montenegro international Savic only joined City from Partizan Belgrade in 2011, but has made just five appearances in the English top flight since his arrival. Even at 21 years-old critics are stating that they believe the young centre-back is not good enough for the Premier League.
Nastasic is seen as a perfect, more solid replacement for his former-Partizan team-mate. City boss Roberto Mancini is still looking to add to his squad before the transfer window shuts on Friday night.
