Manchester City capture Carlos Tevez

Manchester City have announced the capture of Argentinian forward Carlos Tevez for a fee of £25.5 million pounds. Carlos Tevez is set to sign a 5-year deal with Manchester City, subject to a medical. Reports suggest that Tevez would earn £140,000 per week as he prepares for life under Mark Hughes at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Personal terms with Tevez have been agreed and the deal has been ratified by the Football Association (FA) – which ensures that City have 100% economic rights over the player and that no third party ownership is involved. Tevez will wear the number 32 shirt with City and will fly to South Africa with the squad for a pre-season tour. Tevez has won titles in every country that he has played for and has also been voted as South American Player of the Year for three consecutive seasons.

It is terrific news,” a delighted Mark Hughes told mcfc.co.uk. “Carlos is an international player of the highest class who possesses all the attributes that will help drive this club forward. “He is not only outstanding technically but he is a reliable goal scorer and someone who will contribute fully to the team ethic. He gives us another exciting, attacking dimension.”I cannot wait to welcome him to City. This is yet another deal that shows the commitment of the owner Sheikh Mansour to make this club the very best it can possibly be. I am sure our fans will give Carlos an exceptionally warm welcome.”

City will now continue their pursuit of John Terry, Emanuel Adebayor and Joeleon Lescott with added fervour.
