Manchester City’s Italian boss Roberto Mancini has confirmed that Roque Santa Cruz and Shaun Wright-Phillips are on their way out of Manchester City. Santa Cruz had recently turned down a move to Italian club Lazio as he did not want to move on a loan deal. Blackburn seem to be the favourites to sign the Paraguayan who had incidentally moved to the City of Manchester Stadium from Ewood Park two seasons ago. In his first spell at Blackburn, Santa Cruz notched up an impressive tally of 23 goals in 57 games. He has struggled with injury at City. Having made just 20 appearances in two seasons, Roque has scored thrice for the Citizens.
Shaun Wright-Phillips’ second spell at Man City has nowhere been as successful as his first one. The 29-year old has been on the fringes of the City squad under Mancini and has failed to pin down his position in the starting line-up. SWP is set to reunite with Mark Hughes – the manager who brought him to City from Chelsea three years ago.
Mancini was tight lipped on Adebayor’s future. “A lot of teams want Emmanuel but at the moment we have to wait for Mario Balotelli. Maybe Manu will leave but we have another 20 days, so we have time to make a decision,” said Mancini.
