Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has become a target for Manchester City, after it was revealed that contract talks between the England international and the Gunners have broken down. Walcott is in the final year of his contract and could be sold for between £12-15million in the next few days.
Manchester City are looking to strengthen their flanks after the sale of Adam Johnson and their bid to sign to Swansea City’s winger Scott Sinclair collapsed. Brendan Rodgers Liverpool could rival the champions for Walcott’s signature.
The 23 year-old is still highly-rated by many, despite failing to find any consistent form in the past few seasons. Arsenal are likely to push through his sale with the prospect of losing the player for nothing next summer.
Walcott arrived at Arsenal in 2006 from Southampton as a teenage prodigy and is still regarded as one of the most exciting players England have produced in the last few years.
