Manchester City have signed Brazilian full-back Maicon for an undisclosed fee from Serie A giants Inter. The 31 year-old has signed a three-year deal at the Etihad Stadium, but has signed too late to make his debut against QPR tomorrow evening.
Manchester City have also agreed an initial fee of £16million with Benfica for Spanish midfielder Javi Garcia. The Spaniard started his career at Real Madrid and has become a key player for the Portuguese giants. Garcia can play at both centre-back and in central midfield.
Garcia has previously been linked with a move to City’s bitter-rivals Manchester United. However, the Red Devils are believed to have baulked at the fee demanded by Benfica. City now face a rush to get the deal finalised before the transfer window shuts.
Manchester City have agreed to sell striker Roque Santa Cruz to Spanish La Liga club Malaga. The Paraguay international is currently in Spain undergoing a medical, ahead of signing a deal with the crisis-club.
