Premier League leaders Manchester United are being linked with a move for Arsenal winger Theo Walcott. The England international’s future at the Emirates Stadium is in doubt with his contract set to expire in the summer.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has stated that he is confident that Walcott will commit his future to the club, but Walcott has stated that he will only stay at the club if he is promised a role as a central striker.
Walcott had been heavily linked with a January move to Liverpool. However, according to reports in this morning newspapers United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is set to launch an £8million raid for the winger in the January transfer window.
Walcott hasn’t really fulfilled his potential at the Emirates Stadium and maybe a move elsewhere could help the 23 year-old develop his talent. The Gunners won’t want to lose their top scorer, but may have to cash-in to avoid losing him for nothing at the end of the season.
