English champions Manchester United could be set to strengthen their midfield options according to the English media. The two players that United are believed to be tracking are Claudio Marchisio of Juventus and PSG’s Marco Verratti.
Marchisio has impressed for both Juve and Italy in recent years and has become the attacking hub for both teams. The Italian international’s performances for Italian champions Juve have now attracted the interest of the Red Devils.
The English champions could be looking to strengthen their midfield this summer, with Paul Scholes retiring in the summer and evergreen Ryan Giggs in the autumn of his career. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be an admirer of Marchisio.
It seems that the veteran Scot is also interested in PSG youngster Verratti. The 20-year-old joined PSG from Italian club Pescara last summer and is attracting the interest of a number of European giants, including Real Madrid.
Manchester United now also looks to be in the hunt for the £20million rated youngster. Verratti is being lauded as the next big Italian playmaker and has often been compared to Italian international Andrea Pirlo, because of his style of play and ability to dictate play.
