Wolfsburg forward Mario Mandzukic’s standout performances for Croatia at Euro 2012 have caught the eye of Everton scouts, who are now trying to persuade the striker to join his international teammate Nikica Jelavic at Goodison Park. Mandzukic, who is Croatia’s top scorer so far at Euro 2012 and has netted both against the Republic of Ireland and Italy, has two years left on his contract at the Volkswagen Arena.
Croatian manager Slaven Bilic has opted to pair Jelavic and Mandzukic together at Euro 2012 despite having other options like Eduardo and Nikola Kalinic available at his disposal and the Toffees are hoping that the duo can rekindle their international pairing in the Premier League at Goodison Park.
Jelavic has been a clear hit at Goodison since his switch from Scottish giants Rangers last winter.
