South African left back Tsepo Masilela’s agent has slammed the Foxes’ handling of his deal. Masilela was due to complete a season long loan move from Maccabi Haifa to Leicester but the Foxes cancelled the deal at the last moment and opted to sign Paul Konchesky from Liverpool instead.
Masilela’s agent Paschalis Tountouris said that the moment Liverpool came to know that his client was close to signing on the dotted line, they reduced Konchesky’s asking price by 70%. If he had signed for the Foxes, Masilela would have required another 20 odd days to get a work permit, which was not needed for Konchesky. The agent slammed Leicester for their lack of patience and said that his client would now have no alternative but to go back to the Israeli giants.
