Serbia manager Mladen Krstajic has announced that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will be in the audience when the Eagles lock horns with Montenegro in their Group C Nations League clash in Podgorica. Krstajic did not reveal whether Mourinho was scouting a specific player, but the United gaffer is reportedly keeping tabs on a couple of players, one being young defender Nikola Milenkovic.
The 20 year old Fiorentina star currently plies his trade in Serie A and has his heart set on becoming the next Nemanja Vidic, the legendary Serbian who was a key figure at the heart of the United defence under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Mourinho’s disillusionment with his existing set of central defenders is well known, and he has even gone to the extent of playing midfielders in a back three- Ander Herrera v Tottenham and Scott McTominay against West Ham being two examples, ignoring the more natural centre halves available at his disposal.
Along with Milenkovic, Mourinho is also likely to keep an eye on Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, the Lazio midfielder who was linked with a move to United last summer.
Serbia and Montenegro are level on points in their Nations League group, with both teams having picked up a win and a draw from their opening two clashes.
