Brendan Rodgers has made his first signing as Liverpool manager after the Reds announced the acquisition of young striker Fabio Borini. The 21 year old has previously worked with Rodgers at both Chelsea and Swansea and moves to the Reds from Italian Serie A outfit AS Roma.
Borini has put pen to paper a long term contract and the transfer fee the Reds paid for him was not disclosed, although it is rumoured to be somewhere in £10m range. He will wear the No.29 shirt and will compete with Luis Suarez, Craig Bellamy and Andy Carroll for a starting spot at Anfield.
Borini has also represented Parma and Bologna in his relatively short career and was also part of the Italian squad that reached the finals of Euro 2012 before losing to Spain.
