Newcastle look close to completing their first major signing of the summer with Ajax midfielder Vurnon Anita set for a move to the North East. The Dutch international midfielder is valued at £6.8million.
The Ajax youngster is highly-rated and is expected to develop into a very good player. The 23 year-old is expected in the North East to discuss the move with Magpies boss Alan Pardew, before he agrees to complete a move to Newcastle.
Meanwhile, Newcastle target Mathieu Debuchy is still looking to leave French club Lille. The Magpies have had two bids turned down for the French international full-back. Debuchy is still hopeful of a move to the Premier League.
Debuchy has also been linked with Serie A club Inter. However, Debuchy has stated that he would prefer a move to the English top flight this summer.
