According to British newspaper the Daily Star Newcastle are considering a swap deal involving striker Demba Ba and Liverpool striker Andy Carroll. The Magpies were interested in bringing Carroll back home in the summer, but the England international joined West Ham on-loan instead.
Demba Ba was out-of-favour at the start of the season, but has hit form in recent weeks with four goals in just three appearances for Alan Pardew’s team. He was believed to have been unhappy at not starting games earlier on in the season.
However, he now seems first choice and happy on Tyneside. Carroll made his return to action after a short period out with injury in the Irons 2-1 victory over QPR at Loftus Road.
Liverpool look short on strikers and Carroll doesn’t fit into Brendan Rodgers plans. A swap deal could prove ideal for the Reds; although with Ba in such blistering form it’s highly doubtful that the Magpies would consider such a deal.
