According to media reports from Italy, both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly weighing up a move for Austrian star Marcel Sabitzer in the summer. The Leipzig ace scored twice to dump Spurs out of Europe earlier this week, with his brace helping RBL win 3-0 in the second leg and the tie 4-0 on aggregate.
Sabitzer began his career with Admira in his native Austria and had a stint with Rapid Vienna before joining Leipzig in 2014. He was also loaned out to RB Salzburg for the 14/15 season before returning to Germany and was part of Leipzig’s promotion winning side.
Sabitzer has played all 25 of Leipzig’s Bundesliga games this season with eight goals and six assists to his name this season. Julian Nagelsmann’s men are currently third in the table, but are very much in the title race, with defending champions and current leaders Bayern only five points ahead.
Sabitzer, who is currently valued at somewhere around the 40 million euro mark, is contracted to Leipzig till the end of the 2021/22 season.
At 25, Sabitzer also has his prime years ahead of him which makes the Austrian international an even more attractive proposition to the big European clubs.
