Official:- Inter sign Motta

Serie A champions Inter Milan have signed former Barcelona winger Thiago Motta from Genoa. The transfer was rumoured to have been done and dusted as early as May 2009, but Inter have officially confirmed the deal today.

Motta, 26, moves to Inter for an undisclosed fee with Francesco Bolzoni, Leonardo Bonucci and Riccardo Meggiorini joining Genoa on a permanent basis from the Nerazzuri.

Motta joined Genoa on a free transfer in September 2008 after being released by Atletico Madrid. He started his career at Barcelona, but injuries never allowed his career to really take off, and he was sold to Atletico in 2007 for 2 million euros.

Motta has signed a four year contract at Inter.

Inter have already signed Motta’s teammate Diego Milito.

Inter’s city rivals AC Milan have signed Gianmarco Zigoni from Treviso and Giacomo Beretta from Albinoleffe in a co-ownership deal. They also sold Luca Antonelli to Parma, and have loaned out Pierre Aubameyang to Lille, with the French club having the option to make the move permanent in the future.
