Manchester City have officially confirmed the signing of young striker Mario Balotelli from reigning Italian champions Inter Milan. The transfer, which has reportedly cost City around £24m, reunites the 20 year old with former Inter boss Roberto Mancini.
With Balotelli’s signing, City have taken their summer spending to well over £100m, a figure that is again set to rise with the imminent arrival of Aston Villa’s James Milner.
Balotelli has signed a five year contract with City. He made his debut for the Italian national team against Ivory Coast a few days ago.
Balotelli started his career at Lumezzane and joined Inter in 2006. In three seasons at the San Siro, he has scored 28 times in 86 games.
